Description

Berlin stands as a testament to a rich history marked by iconic landmarks, diverse cultural influences, and a dynamic contemporary atmosphere.

This course invites participants to explore Berlin’s cultural wealth, serving as a case study to elucidate the principles of Cultural Heritage Education (CHE).

Aligned with the Council of Europe’s vision, this course seeks to seamlessly integrate cultural heritage education into school curricula, fostering an understanding of shared history and values among younger generations and strengthening their connection to a collective European cultural and political identity.

Through an immersive, hands-on approach, participants will enhance their visual and critical thinking skills, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the protection and promotion of cultural heritage to forge a European identity rooted in common and tangible roots.

The course will include guided tours in the city center and other historic locations, spotlighting iconic monuments such as the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Cathedral, and the historic Museum Island.

The immersive experience is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the city’s rich history, allowing participants to delve into the stories behind these iconic monuments and gain a deeper appreciation for the cultural tapestry woven into Berlin’s past.
