Often referred to as the “Little Paris,” Bucharest earned this nickname due to its resemblance to the French capital, particularly its wide boulevards and elegant architecture. Historically, it was known as the “Paris of the East” and played a significant role in Romania’s cultural and political development, especially during the 19th and 20th centuries.

As the cultural, political, and economic hub of Romania, Bucharest is home to several key landmarks, such as the Palace of the Parliament, one of the largest administrative buildings in the world, and the historic Old Town (Lipscani), famous for its charming streets and cultural sites.
